More than 70 homes destroyed in Australian wildfires
Australian wildfires have destroyed more than 70 homes and buildings in rural areas of Victoria and New South Wales, according to authorities. As of Monday morning, no deaths or serious injuries were reported.
The fires, believed to have been sparked by lightning on Saturday, were fanned by dry, hot winds as temperatures reached 41 C throughout Sunday. Emergency officials said “watch and act” warnings remained in five locations.
