Leading with mental problems, young people are having a hard time seeking for help despite being them the most vulnerable to mental illness because of the pressure and changing times.
Psychiatrist Dr. Katrina Lising –Enriquez of The Medical City stated that discussion about mental health on young people is very relevant and timely most especially because of the peak in suicide rates not only in the Philippines but in other countries, too.
“Suicide prevention is given a low priority in most Western Pacific countries due to the competing health problems, stigma, and poor understanding of the condition,” stated in a 2011 study of suicide in the Philippines.
