Criminal responsibility para sa 12-anyos pinalagan ng CHR

   MANILA, Philippines — Hindi pabor ang Commission on Human Rights sa pagbababa ng maaring panagutin ng batas sa 12 taong gulang, ‘yan ay matapos irebisa ng Kamara ang naunang panukala na 9-anyos.

   “The Commission on Human Rights is deeply alarmed that, despite calls of experts on child development and advocates of children’s rights, members of the House of Representatives are still firm on reducing the minimum age of criminal responsibility from what the current law sets at 15 years old,” ayon sa pahayag ni CHR spokesperson Atty. Jacqueline de Guia.

   (Lubos na nababahala ang Commission on Human Rights dahil, sa kabila ng panawagan ng mga eksperto sa child development at advocates ng children’s rights, resolbado pa rin ang House of Representatives na ibaba ang minimum age of criminal responsibility sa kasalukuyang 15 taong gulang.)
