Venice to separate tourists and locals

Venice will segregate locals and tourists during the long holiday weekend from April 28 through May 1 to cope with the huge number of visitors that continue to strain its infrastructure.

Restrictions include redirecting tourist flows to popular landmarks such as the Piazzale Roma and the Strada Nuova. Certain places will only be accessible to residents and regular visitors of the city (those with a Venezia Unica card).
